JJ’s Red Hots is a Charlotte staple: delivering up perfectly charred hot dogs and sausages with homemade fixin’s that have made them famous. So famous, in fact, they’ve been featured on the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Now, the hot dog joint’s gone mobile in a food truck they’ve affectionately named Frank the Tank, serving up those same quality dogs.
JJ’s motto is simple: ”don’t dis the dog”. Though you can have it any way you like. From the classic Sahlen’s brand of beef and pork to JJ’s Bratwurst, a housemade specialty, choose your toppings or have them dress it up for you. They’re the experts, after all. Find Frank the Tank roaming the streets in North Carolina, or hire ’em to bring the sausage party to you. These dogs are famous for a reason.
MUST TRY
- The Char Heel – a hot dog with Carolina roots, done up traditionally with JJ’s house-made chili, coleslaw, freshly diced onions and mustard. So good, it’ll get your tail waggin’.
